The CD starts off with Graduation Day, perhaps just released in time for all those seniors getting out of high school. Does Head Automatica want this song to become the new most-requested songs for a graduation, replacing Green Day's The Time of Your Life? Graduation Day is a good choice for the first song on the album because it pretty much sets the mood for the rest of the tracks. A lot of the songs tend to blend together and not offer anything unique. If you are listening to this CD while doing something else, you won't even realize that several songs have already played.
Two of the better songs on the CD are Egyptian Musk and K Horse, probably because they are more reminiscent of the bands previous work. These songs are at a faster pace with a funkier beat than the rest of the songs.
It's unclear as to why Head Automatica decided to close the CD with Beating Heart Baby, a track that was originally released on Decadence. Apparently this version of the song was remixed by Chris Lord-Alge but yet barely sounds any different than the original. It's possible that the band ran out of material, and realizing that the CD was not that long, added this song to give it more substance.
Overall, Popaganda is not bad, but it is not great. Nothing really stands out about this CD. It is a let down when comparing it to the bands previous material.
