For most people, it is not that long of a commute, and you get to see some wild and exotic animals. Just be sure to wear comfortable shoes because you will end up doing a lot of walking.
The Bronx Zoo still has many exhibits that are opened. Some of the special events coming up include:
Grandparents Weekend (Sept. 9-10) - A special celebration for your grandparents, featuring doo-wop music, crafts and storytelling. (See, you can still have fun with your grandparents without involving Scrabble.)
Hispanic Heritage Weekend (Sept. 16-17) - Traditional Hispanic music and dance will be featured, along with a storyteller and animals from Latin America.
Events run from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and are subject to change. If you are not interested in attending any of the events, go on a weekday and avoid the crowds.

s summer comes quickly to an end, try to enjoy the last few nice days before it gets too cold and you are stuck inside playing Scrabble with your grandmother. Instead of going to the beach or park, try something different and go to the Bronx Zoo.
