All the vendors were dressed in fashionable attire of the Medieval age. Most of them offer accessories that one could wear to the Renaissance Faire. Those accessories are primarily silver and leather jewelry, swords, axes and daggers. This festival is suitable for the entire family. The maypole celebration would be racy, but the performers gave a PG version, so the most daring visual is an embrace and a peck on the lips.
The Sands Point Preserve Medieval Festival is not as interactive as the Renaissance Faires held in Reading, PA and Tuxedo, NY. However, it is close, ideal for children and this year offered discounted admission into the dinosaur exhibit with purchase of a ticket. The single antiquarian might not enjoy this faire as much as they would the bigger Renaissance Faires, but this faire is ideally suited for families and makes for a very fun and educational day.
