Bored ... In Need of New Inspiration       Rudey, It's Time to Get Rude!

By R. A. Van Vleet

"When I first met you, didn't realize." (1a) How could I or anyone? Life is just a one-dimensional plateau before that, and now "I can't forget you, for your suprize." (1b) Damn, did you ever "introduce me to my mind." (1c) Casted out as an observer of this societal structure due to a disease wrecking me; "my life was empty, forever on a down,"1d but thanks to you "my life is free now, my life is clear."1e Well, I don't know about the "free" part...

"Freedom is about authority. Freedom is about the willingness of every single human being to cede to lawful authority a great deal of discretion about what you do." That line is as fitting double-speak as the Patriot Act, don't ya think? It comes courtesy of our new presidential frontrunner, America's mayor, Rudy Giuliani. I found it on a long since neglected website dedicated to raising awareness of Giuliani's overly zealous ways - Giulianism - during his stint as New York City's mayor.

This site, www.infoshop.org/giulianism.html, was made by anarchists. A little extreme you may say, but we must realize that actions have reactions. The city's surge of anarchists that developed in the late 1990s came about because of how New Yorkers were on the verge of living similar to the film V for Vendetta if not for term limits.

Civil liberties, constitutional rites, Giulianism is not about those things. That was becoming apparent when Giuliani was done with weeding out the scum of the city and unleashed his storm trooper secret police forces on the innocent. How can I say such things about a hero?

"On September 10, 2001, Giuliani was a little more popular than a snaggle-toothed plain Jane, with a running cold sore, selling smooches at a county fair booth," wrote Monroe Anderson, of the Chicago Sun Times, in its 3/4/07 issue. What a difference a day makes, hey?

Giuliani should forever be applauded for his 9/11 efforts. He showed surprising signs of care and humanity. It was also fitting for him to leave public office shortly after and enter private life as a hero. That status could have remained intact forever, but now he wants to be president and now the real Giuliani needs to be exposed. Yet, that Infoshop website remains dormant. The Shadow, New York City's underground newspaper, and Robert Lederman, president of Artist's Response to Illegal State Tactics, were perhaps on top of Giuliani more than his many wives and they have yet to start raising national awareness. Do they think that just because he's out of New York he's not their problem anymore? This man stands a chance of being the world's problem!

What's worse is how southern conservatives, especially, those damn evangelical idiots, are backing Giuliani. Giuliani's past involves him being pro-choice, a believer in gay rights and a huge supporter of gun control. Put that aside, you still have an Italian Catholic from New York who had a father and uncle with presumed mob ties. Shit, the only thing about Giuliani some of those people can relate with is that his first wife was his cousin. Yet, in a recent Quinnipiac College poll, 66.3 percent of evangelicals would vote Giuliani in for president right now.

Hero - that word blinds people sometimes. The word led to Andrew Jackson becoming president. He had the only American victory in the War of 1812. No one cared that it was won after the war ended. Jackson was the first and only president to defy the Supreme Court and his actions led to the deaths of thousands of innocent lives.

Is that what's happening here or is there another thought that needs to be addressed? Are those right-wingers all behind Giuliani because he is the only presidential frontrunner that comes close to resembling the standard WASP? After all, he is white and only wears a dress sometimes. "They'll never listen, cause their minds are made up and course it's all okay to carry on that way." (2)

If so, then perhaps it's prophetic that the 5th of November 2008 is when the Free World announces a new leader.

Right now, Giuliani's past critics should be storming out press releases and info packs debunking the hero. Democrats should grow a pair and make TV ads reviving old names like Abner Loiuma and Amadeus Diallo, exactly like Bush Sr. did to that wimp Dukakis oh so long ago. They should also raise awareness to how New York City firefighters despise the man and how some of Giuliani's disaster planning made 9/11 worse. The hero factor must not deter anyone. Reveal the real Giuliani! The important thing is to do it where the others don't make themselves look bad. And, Giuliani, when it happens "I would not feel so all alone." (3)

Final note: This Iraq issue has become so hardcore about staying in or pulling out. Softcore sometimes makes for a better scene.

What you read about here aims at wandering through the issues and connecting the dots to make sense of them. But just because sense is found does not mean that it is the way. Also remember, not all who wander are aimless.
