Tommy Hilfiger Awarded Humantarian Award
Fashion Designer Icon Tommy Hilfiger will be awarded the Humanitarian of the Year Award at the Suffolk County Red Cross Gala in Southampton, Saturday, Aug. 19. Hilfiger donated over $300,000 and over 20,000 garments to the disaster services unit of the American Red Cross during Hurricane Katrina. Hilfiger's brother, Andrew Hilfiger, will perform at the gala with his classic rock group the X Brothers in their Hamptons debut. Hilfiger with perform along side Joe Bouchard, formerly of Blue Oyster Cult and Jimmy Cacala. Others to be honored with the Red Cross Humanitarian Award are philanthropist Henry Buhl and children's rights advocate Sheila Rosenblum. Also performing is the Elvis White Band. The event is being hosted by Carole and Todd Rome, owner of Blue Star Jets, at their estate in Southampton. The event is sold out. Starts at 7 p.m.
